What are some home remdies for whiter teeth?

I noticed that my teeth are slightly an off white yellowish color. Can someone please give me some home remedies. My grandmother use to say something about baking soda but i can’t remember exactly what it was.

Baking soda and peroxide. I have a friend who uses it regularly and has beautiful white teeth. He makes a mouth wash and uses it after brushing. It tastes funny though and leave a little tingle on the tongue.

For human teeth, take 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 2 to 3 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide. Never swallow this mixture. Brush with mixture leaving on for at least 2 minutes then follow with brushing teeth again with a regular toothpaste. This works very quickly. You should see results within a week of using it twice a day.

I want really white teeth, but not too sure on what products are best to get whiter teeth. Anything you can recommend would be really good.

Btw yes i’m in the U.K, we don’t really use bleach over here- durrrrr!

For me, I tried out the Aquafresh Whitening Trays, and they only worked okay. Then I tried Crest Whitestrips Daily Multicare, and they worked perfectly! I would definitely reccommend those out of all the products out there. They are easy to use, affordable, and work REALLY well. Hey. I have pretty much white teeth, but i want them really nice and bright! I brush my teeth every time before i go to bed. Is there any whitening home-treatments that are rather cheap? Twice a day is a good amount to brush your teeth. Once when you get up and once when you go to bed. It also wouldn’t hurt to brush them once in the middle of the day too. Crest whitening strips work really well.

Just when it was too late, I have spotted some yellow in my teeth, which meant that the white was fading away. Does it lack calcium or floride? And more importantly, how can I get back my white teeth? (what type of toothbrush should I use?)

Actually you might want to brush your teeth less often (once or twice a day is plenty), don’t brush too hard and get a good toothpaste with natural ingredients. Also try to limit mouthwash use. It means your enamel is wearing and this causes the dentin underneath the enamel to appear (dentin is yellowy colored). Sometimes this happens because you body is deficient in calcium and so your teeth demineralize to supply minerals to the rest of your bones in the body. So you will want to start eating a more nutritious diet, get calcium from spinach, milk, butter etc. Fish and liver are also good for bone health. Try sushi. And eat lots of fat soluable vitamins.

If you want good teeth health, I would say to avoid whitening products. Because this will not solve your problem in the long term, and the results won’t last long. When I used whitening products my teeth would get whiter for a few days, then become even more yellow a week later. They would also become more weak and brittle. The potential harm to your teeth is not worth it. Most whitening products contain peroxide which erodes your enamel.

Also what I did was change my diet, start drinking milk more occasionally and swish the milk around in my mouth, like a mouthwash. It actually does whiten your teeth as weird as it sounds.

im 17 and have something on in 2 and a half months, and i would like whiter teeth(atm they arent very white) but i dont want to use those stupid teeth whitener products as i cant really afford anything right now.
so how many times should i brush and how do YOU brush your teeth, like straigh up and down or sideways or both?

You should brush your teeth and (gums) in an up and down motion for about 2-3 minutes, 3 times a day. Don’t brush too hard though or you may make your gums tender. An old remedy, (but one that works very well), is to brush your teeth with baking soda, also called bi-carbonate of soda. It’s fantastic stuff.

I have always had good healthy teeth but my wedding is coming up soon and i want them to be as white as possible for the big day but don’t have a lot of money to spend on getting them whiter.

Can you find a solution for white teeth smith? I’ve seen people in everyday life, not just celebrities that have really good white teeth. Is this because they avoid food staining products like sodas? Any white teeth smith products I can use that has worked for you?

my best friend was looking for white teeth smith answer. She used crest white strips but she also complains that her teeth have gotten more sensitive when she drinks ice tea. she tried a teeth whitener kit online and it’s still white but without the sensitivity. im not a dentist but i can only assume its strips that made it sensitive. you can get the white strips at any store and the kit from the website below. hope that can help guide your white teeth smith question.

Brush at least three times a day.
Use floss every day.

TO BUY:

Baking Soda: about 96 cents at wal mart.

Mix baking soda with water into a paste (add toothpaste too, or else it tastes horrible!)
Brush all over teeth for at least 2 minutes, rinse.
Every morning when you wake up, and every night before you go to bed.

Hydrogen peroxide: about 1 dollar at wal mart.

Mix equal amounts of hydrogen peroxide and water.
Swish two minutes, twice daily. Don’t swallow it!

Whitening Mouthwash: About (equate brand has same exact ingredients as Listerine brand) 7 dollars at walmart

This is by far the best solution. You get a good amount of mouthwash for pretty cheap. Swish twice daily, morning and night before you brush, for one minute. WORKS WONDERS! and doesn’t taste nearly as bad as baking soda or hydrogen peroxide.
